About Me...My love of the water started around 18 months old when I'd sit at the bottom of a pool and grin...to the chagrins of my mother. As many others, I was fascinated by the adventures of Jacques Yves Cousteau and the Calypso. Around age 22, I completed my SCUBA certification and dove around Catalina before moving to Colorado where I paused diving for college.  A few years later, some friends invited me to Maui Hawaii for a week and picked up a boat for the day at Molokini Crater.  Since then, I have had the pleasure to dive reefs near and far, from the shores of Southern California to Florida as well as most of the Caribbean, Indian and Pacific Oceans. I am spoiled to have dove the Galapagos Islands and the diverse reefs of the Indo-Pacific.I blame my dad for the shutter bug he instilled with me and decided to pick up a Sea and Sea 4 pixel "point and shoot".  Eventually upgraded to DSLRs and related toys...You can say it's now an addiction.Underwater photography requires honing several skills. Proper control of light, motion, buoyancy, awareness of surroundings, knowledge of habitat and behavior (something I call "Reef Eyes") and  healthy  patience. I enjoy the life long challenges that underwater photography demands and continually strive to improve these skills in bringing forth my images. I also enjoy landscape photography when not diving (aka surface interval).

I use a Nikon D850 with Nikon lenses as well as recently adding an OM1 II and related M.Zuiko lenses. Currently shooting with Aquatica and Nauticam housings and ports, Backscatter and Sea & Sea strobes. GAS Rocks!  I edit using Lightroom and Photoshop.

It is my hope, that by sharing my view of the ocean, I may inspire others to seek out, explore and discover, in their own way, The beauty and wonders within the seas… and to ultimately see the importance and urgency of protecting our fragile oceans. They are no longer the infinite resource we once believed.
